Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih ŞAHAN is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Engineering. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Çukurova University (2012), with a thesis on dynamic analysis of viscoelastic composite plates. His academic roles include Department of Mechanics Chair (2017-), Deputy Director of the Institute of Science (2014-2019), and Program Head at Çukurova University's Vocational School (2006-2012).
Research interests focus on solid mechanics, dynamic analysis of composite structures, viscoelastic materials, seismic engineering, and structural behavior under extreme conditions. Notable projects include studies on composite-repaired pipelines, asphalt aggregate substitution in concrete, and snow load impacts on structural design.
Recent articles explore topics like viscoelastic composite shell dynamics, impact behavior of recycled asphalt concrete, and geopolymer paving stone properties. He has advised over 8 master's students and contributed to 23 peer-reviewed publications. Awards include recognition from the 18th National Mechanics Congress (2013) for doctoral research. His work integrates theoretical mechanics with practical applications in construction materials and structural safety.
