Mehmet Emin CEYLAN, MD, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychiatry at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Medicine. He holds a medical degree from Cumhuriyet University (1982) and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Marmara University. His career includes roles as Chief of Staff at Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital (1992), Coordinator of Psychiatric Units (2008), and Professor since 2012.
His research focuses on neurophilosophy, the gut-brain axis, microbiota's role in mental health, and clinical psychiatry. He has pioneered studies on fecal microbiota transplantation for neuropsychiatric disorders and explored neural mechanisms of collectivity and consciousness.
