Mehdi Seyedmonir

Dr. Mehdi Seyedmonir is a Professor of Psychology at West Virginia State University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in general psychology, developmental psychology, learning and memory, statistics, research methods, and educational psychology. He holds a doctorate in Educational Psychology from West Virginia University.

His research focuses on conceptual change, self-directed learning, behavioral change, learning strategies, problem solving, and the efficacy of technology-enhanced instructional approaches in STEM fields. He has led an interdisciplinary USDA/NIFA-funded grant to develop online learning resources and has explored flipped classroom models to enhance conceptual understanding in biology and psychology, as well as virtual laboratories to support physical lab skill development.

Dr. Seyedmonir is currently establishing an undergraduate psychological research lab and program to provide advanced research opportunities for psychology majors. He has served as a reviewer/consulting editor for journals like the Journal of Experimental Education, and as a consultant, evaluator, and workshop presenter for state agencies, schools, and businesses.

His professional contributions extend to collaborative research, grant leadership, and advancing pedagogical innovation through technology integration.
