Mehdi Raessi

Mehdi Raessi is a Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto (2008) and has postdoctoral experience at NASA-Stanford University's Center for Turbulence Research. His research focuses on numerical simulations of interfacial flows, multiphase systems, and energy applications, with grants from NSF, Office of Naval Research, and others totaling over $1M. Notable projects include wave energy converters and super-hydrophobic surface design for wind turbines.

Dr. Raessi teaches Thermal Systems Design and Masters Thesis, emphasizing thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
