Megumi Fujita

Megumi Fujita, Ph.D., is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of West Georgia within the Dr. Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences. With expertise in green chemistry and organic chemistry, she has taught a wide range of courses including Organic Chemistry I, Spectroscopy, and Green Chemistry special topics.

• Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Alberta (2001)

Her research focuses on sustainable chemical practices, advanced synthesis techniques, and instrumental analysis methods. She has extensive experience teaching undergraduate chemistry laboratories and seminars, including CHEM-1100L, CHEM-4908L, and CHEM-4913L, while mentoring students through internships at Southwire.

Megumi Fujita is available for interviews regarding organic chemistry, chemical synthesis, and undergraduate chemical research training. Her office hours are Mondays 1-2:30pm, Tuesdays 2:30-4:00pm, and Thursdays 11:00am-1:00pm in Technology Learning Center Room 2122.
