Prof Megan Williams is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney's School of Public Health. She specializes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equity, prison health systems, and culturally-informed evaluation frameworks. Her work focuses on improving health service design through Indigenous expertise, particularly for marginalized populations.
Education includes a PhD in Public Health from UNSW Sydney (2015), and prior roles include Associate Dean of Indigenous Health (2022-2023) and Head of the Girra Maa Indigenous Health Discipline (2021-2023). She holds leadership positions in organizations like Croakey.org and the AIHW National Prisoner Health Information Committee.
Research interests span Indigenous public health, health rights advocacy, and policy impact. Her Ngaa-bi-nya evaluation framework is widely cited in Indigenous health strategy development. Current projects include the Bangamalhana program for Aboriginal women exiting prisons and the IMHIP youth mental health initiative.
Funded research includes NHMRC and MRFF grants for Indigenous health interventions, correctional health studies, and Indigenous procurement policy evaluations. She has authored over 69 publications focusing on health equity, Indigenous methodologies, and prison health systems.
