Megan Wallace, MSW, LISW, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and licensed social worker at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She serves as the Director for Clinical Operations at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVRTC) within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Additionally, she directs the MSW Field Placement Program at NCVRTC and co-leads the Community Outreach Program-Esperanza (COPE).
- Education: B.S. in Psychology (minor in Spanish) from College of Charleston; M.S.W. from University of South Carolina’s College of Social Work.
Her expertise focuses on trauma-related mental health, particularly child abuse and homicide survivor support. She specializes in evidence-based therapies like Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), telehealth service delivery, and community-based mental health interventions. Ms. Wallace leads a federally funded Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) service grant to expand resources for underserved trauma survivors.
She contributes to public health through roles in the South Carolina Suicide Prevention Coalition and as a committee member of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Charleston Area Out of the Darkness Walk. Her work bridges clinical practice, training, and advocacy.
