Megan Hartman is a Professor of English at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, specializing in Medieval Literature, Historical Linguistics, and Poetics. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Indiana University (2011), an M.A. from Indiana University (2005), and a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire (2003). Her academic journey includes roles as Assistant Professor (2011–2016) and Associate Professor (2016–2021) at UNK, preceded by teaching roles at Indiana University.
Her research focuses on Old English and Old Norse poetry, metrical analysis, and the evolution of literary forms. Key interests include hypermetric structures, comparative Germanic literature, and the intersection of poetics with historical linguistics.
