Dr. Megan Griffiths is a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine, where she investigates wildlife disease ecology and epidemiological modeling. Her research focuses on virus transmission dynamics in bat populations, particularly developing transmissible vaccine strategies for diseases like rabies.
Her work integrates field studies with computational modeling to understand viral persistence in vampire bats, including research on betaherpesvirus vectors and bat-specific influenza. She collaborates with the Streicker Group and conducts extensive outreach through Glasgow Science Festival and Science Centre exhibitions.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on transmissible vaccine development, viral epidemiology in bats, and innovative disease control strategies. Recent work explores influenza transmission dynamics and vaccine deployment optimization.
