Megan E. Boyd is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Georgia State University College of Law, where she teaches Civil Procedure, Professional Responsibility, Advanced Strategies in Legal Argument, and Animal Law. She joined the faculty in 2014 as an adjunct instructor and currently collaborates with Externship Director Kendall Kerew. Prior to her academic career, Boyd clerked and worked as a litigator in Atlanta, focusing on bad faith and coverage defense.

Boyd's research interests span Legal Writing, Animal Law, Civil Procedure, and Children's Literature (particularly the legal themes in Lewis Carroll's works). Her recent publications explore topics such as storytelling in complaint drafting, plagiarism pedagogy, and animal cruelty sentencing reforms.
She serves as the editor of the Scribes Journal of Legal Writing and has co-authored the book Show, Don’t Tell: Legal Writing for the Real World. Her articles are published in venues like Animal Law Review, Georgia Bar Journal, and Legal Communication & Rhetoric, with a focus on improving legal communication and animal rights advocacy.
Scientific awards include the CALI Award for excellence in legal education. Her teaching emphasizes practical skills, with experience as a law clerk and litigator informing her approach to legal training.
