Meg Mott is Professor of Political Science at Marlboro College, teaching since 1999. Her work focuses on political theory, constitutional interpretation, and fostering democratic debate through innovative pedagogy and public engagement.
Her educational background:
- B.A., Norwich University (1992)
- Ph.D., University of Massachusetts at Amherst (2001)
Mott's research spans constitutional law (especially Bill of Rights debates), feminist jurisprudence, and Latin American politics. She created the "Debating Our Rights" series to bridge ideological divides on civil liberties. Her scholarship addresses contemporary issues like Title IX compliance and campus sexual assault policies.
Her publications evolved from Latin American studies to urgent constitutional questions in higher education. Recent Washington Post op-eds translate complex legal theories into public discourse on gender justice and due process.
No scientific awards are documented.
Mott has advised over a dozen senior theses on topics ranging from right-wing populism to ecological citizenship. She participated in an NEH consortium grant for local history preservation but has no individually attributed research grants.
