Meg K. Guliford, PhD is an Assistant Professor in Drexel University's Department of Politics. She holds a PhD in International Relations from Tufts University (2022), an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School (2003), and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (2001). Her research focuses on political violence, conflict processes, U.S. foreign policy, and sports politics, with a focus on civilian victimization during external intervention in civil wars.
Key research contributions include analyzing post-intervention civilian protection dynamics, funded by the United States Institute of Peace and the Eisenhower Institute. She leads the APSA-funded Descriptive Research Workshop, advancing methodological innovations. Her work has been recognized with the 2021 Sidney D. Drell Academic Award from the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
Prior to academia, Guliford spent over a decade in national security roles, including a civilian deployment in Iraq. Her teaching expertise includes international relations, military intervention, and violence against civilians in conflict zones.
