Dr Meesha Warmington is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Psychology at the School of Education, University of Sheffield. She holds leadership roles as Faculty of Social Sciences Deputy Director of Education: Inclusive Learning Environments, Co-Director of The Centre for Equity & Inclusion, and Co-Lead of the Inequality and Intersectionality Workstream at the Healthy Lifespan Institute.
Her research focuses on the intersection of cognition, language, and literacy across the lifespan, particularly in multilingual contexts. Key areas include bilingual cognitive advantages, dyslexia assessment, cognitive aging, and the impact of nutrition on cognitive development. She has developed the widely used York Adult Assessment Battery-Revised (YAA-R) for dyslexia in higher education.
Recent publications highlight trends in bilingualism, literacy disorders, and cognitive mechanisms. Notably, her work explores how sleep affects vocabulary consolidation in children with dyslexia, cross-cultural stuttering attitudes, and educational interventions for multilingual learners.

She supervises PhD students Marta Ciesielska and Peng Zhang, whose research examines cognitive-neurological language learning mechanisms.
