Mechelle Liu Collins

Mechelle Liu Collins is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at Long Island University's School of Health Professions, Department of Occupational Therapy. She holds a BS/MS in Science/Occupational Therapy from Dominican College (2006). Her expertise spans Pediatrics/Sensory Integration, Fieldwork Coordination, and Service Learning initiatives.

Research focuses on occupational therapy education, interprofessional collaboration, and global health outreach in Belize. She has presented at national conferences including Salt Lake City (2017) and Philadelphia (2017), emphasizing telehealth expansion and fieldwork assessment.

Affiliations include Metropolitan Occupational Therapy Education Council (MOTEC) as Treasurer and leadership in LIU's Belize Service Learning program since 2014. Active in interprofessional education (IPE) since 2015 and a Summer Honors Program presenter (2016/2018).
