Md Saniul Alam is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Brighton's School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering. He holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, a Master's from Cardiff University, and a Bachelor's from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His research focuses on sustainable transportation systems, transport externalities, and environmental impact analysis, with particular emphasis on air quality, fleet modernization, and policy-driven solutions.
Alam's expertise spans transportation planning, emissions modelling, and smart mobility solutions. He has contributed to projects such as the EU FP7-ICT Persuasive Trip Advisor initiative and led studies on emission inventories for the Irish EPA. His industrial experience includes roles with the National Transport Authority of Ireland and the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority, addressing issues like BRT systems and infrastructure planning.
