Dr. Md Nurnabi Sheikh is a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's Health Economics & Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) research group within the School of Health & Wellbeing. He is a PhD candidate in Health Economics at the University of Strathclyde. His research focuses on health economics, including economic evaluation of public health policies, healthcare financing, and decision modeling. He has contributed to projects on alcohol policy analysis (ELEPHANT study) and gender-based violence prevention in schools (Equally Safe at School).
Key qualifications include a Master of Health Economics from the University of Dhaka, a Master of Public Health from the Independent University Bangladesh, and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Rajshahi. He has held roles such as Researcher at the University of Strathclyde and Statistical Officer at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh.
His research interests span controlled time series designs for alcohol research, system dynamics modeling, and healthcare financing equity. Recent publications address topics like vaccine willingness-to-pay in Bangladesh and decomposition of childhood undernutrition disparities.
He has secured a UK Health Security Agency grant (2024-2025) for cost-effectiveness analysis of health protection interventions for marginalized populations. His work often emphasizes global health equity and policy-relevant outcomes.
