Md Harun Or Rashid

Md Harun Or Rashid is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science and a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) at Kent State University. He holds a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management from Kent State University, and prior degrees from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (MSS and BSS in Political Science). His research focuses on democracy, political parties, conflict resolution, migration, and governance innovation. He has over ten years of experience in research, teaching, and advocacy with organizations like the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), International Republican Institute (IRI), and BRAC University's Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD).

• Professional Experience: Core team member of Bangladesh's National Governance Assessment Framework (2016), Prime Minister’s Office/UNDP collaboration; Project Manager for USIP's Bangladesh initiatives.
• Teaching: Courses on comparative politics, conflict management, and governance at Kent State and BRAC University.

Research interests include refugee policies, cultural diversity impacts on governance, and religion's role in education systems. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly governance indicators.
