Dr. Md Hakim Ali is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the Department of Finance and Economics, Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). Previously, he held positions at the University of Bolton and the University of Southampton’s Malaysia Campus, where he also served as Business School Lab Coordinator and Academic Integrity Officer. His PhD from Taylor’s University focused on cybersecurity hazards in banking operational risks, with additional qualifications from INCEIF and the University of Rajshahi.
His research interests include risk management, capital markets, cryptocurrencies, RegTech, and cyber economics. He has published in journals such as International Review of Financial Analysis and Technological Forecasting and Social Change, with media coverage in Insurance News Net and The Financial Express. Key contributions address cybersecurity’s impact on financial stability, cryptocurrency market dynamics, and Islamic finance diversification.
Teaching includes FinTech and innovation modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His work bridges academic research and practical applications, emphasizing digital transformation and financial technology.
