McKinley Green is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at George Mason University. His research focuses on queer rhetorics, community-based research, and HIV/AIDS risk communication, particularly among young people. He holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, along with MA (Michigan State University) and BA (St. Olaf College) degrees.
Research interests include queer digital rhetoric, health communication strategies for HIV+, and participatory methodologies with marginalized communities. His work bridges rhetorical theory with public health practices, emphasizing community-driven solutions.
Recent publications explore equity in participatory research (Rhetoric of Health and Medicine 2024) and queer/trans health justice frameworks. He has received grants including the University of Minnesota Youth and AIDS Projects grants (2021) and a Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (2020).
