Małgorzata Widomska

Małgorzata Widomska, a Doctor of Arts with expertise in painting, installation art, drawing, and art writing, serves as a faculty member at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she currently leads the Studio for Exploring Individual Painting Strategies as a replacement for Dominika Kowynia. Her practice emphasizes painting as a field for exploring the meaning of source experiences, positioning aesthetics as a tool for verification akin to logic.

Her research interests focus on interdisciplinary intersections of visual arts, including:

• Exploration of memory and emotion through painting and installations
• Philosophical inquiry into artistic processes
• Collaborative art practices within collectives

Widomska has exhibited extensively in Poland and internationally, including solo and duo shows at galleries like Galeria Śmierć Człowieka (Warsaw) and Lokal_30 (Warsaw). She co-founded the collective Inne Towarzystwo, contributing to the non-institutional art scene.
