Małgorzata Kossowska

Prof. Małgorzata Kossowska is a psychologist and faculty member at the Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Philosophy, serving as head of the Department of Social Psychology and the Center for Social Cognitive Studies. Her research focuses on cognitive and motivational processes underlying radical ideological beliefs, prejudices, social conflicts, and media-driven polarization.

• Leader of the international DigiPatch consortium (funded by ERA NET Chanse, 2022-2026)
• Founder of the interdisciplinary Behavior in Crisis Lab (Jagiellonian University Excellence Initiative)
• Recipient of multiple scientific awards including the Tadeusz Tomaszewski Award and Jagiellonian Laurel
• Active in academic leadership as former Director of the Institute of Psychology (2008-2012) and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy (2012-2020)

Her work spans social psychology, cognitive science, and political psychology, with over 100 publications in Polish and international journals. She contributes to scientific policy through roles in the National Science Centre Council and the Ministry of Science's Scientific Policy Committee.
