Mayo Moran is Professor of Law at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she holds the inaugural Irving and Rosalie Abella Chair in Justice and Equality. She previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Law (2006–2014) and as Provost and Vice-Chancellor of Trinity College (2014–2024). A leading scholar in restitution, reparative justice, tort law, and legal theory, Moran has shaped legal education, policy, and institutional reform in Canada.

Her work has influenced judicial education and policy reform on sexual violence, accessibility, and inclusion.
Scholarly Publications
Her research output includes major monographs such as Rethinking the Reasonable Person (OUP, 2003) and the forthcoming The Problem of the Past and How to Fix It (OUP, 2025), alongside numerous influential articles on institutional liability, historic injustice, and constitutional values.

Leadership & Policy Impact
As Dean, Moran led the $53M campaign for the Jackman Law Building and the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights, reformed the JD curriculum, and launched the Global Professional Master of Laws. As Provost of Trinity College, she spearheaded a $100M campaign including the Lawson Centre for Sustainability and renegotiated the college’s federated relationship with the University of Toronto.
