Maya Papineau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Carleton University, affiliated with the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs. She holds a B.A. from Carleton University, an M.Sc. from University College London (UCL), and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on environmental and energy economics, applied econometrics, and policy evaluation, particularly addressing climate change mitigation, energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable development. She supervises M.A. students and has been recognized as a media commentator on climate policy topics like carbon taxation and green housing.
