Maya Hertig Randall

Maya Hertig Randall serves as Professor of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Geneva since 2007. Previously, she held positions as Assistant Professor of European and International Economic Law at the University of Berne and visiting scholar roles at Central European University and University of Michigan.

Her research centers on international and comparative human rights with specialized focus on freedom of speech and religious freedom. She examines judicial review mechanisms, international constitutionalism frameworks, federalism structures, and diversity accommodation models across political systems. Her work bridges theoretical legal analysis with practical human rights implementation in multicultural societies.

Since 2014, she has contributed her expertise as a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), applying constitutional law perspectives to humanitarian law contexts.
