Maya Adereth

Maya Adereth is a Lecturer and Course Tutor in Political Sociology at the Department of Sociology, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on the political strategies of trade unions, particularly their advocacy for universal public benefits like pensions and healthcare. She employs comparative historical methods to analyze how state formation and institutional contexts shape labor movements and organizational resilience.

Her expertise spans Comparative Historical Sociology, Labor Movements, Organisational Sociology, and the Sociology of Class. Methodologically, she combines large-scale comparative analysis with organizational theory to explain why certain working-class associations thrive in specific socio-economic environments.
