Maximiliano Ferro is an Assistant Professor of Animation at the School of Film and Media Studies, Purchase College. His work bridges figuration and abstraction, exploring themes of self-realization, memory, and creativity through analog and digital mediums. He holds an MFA from Rutgers University and a BFA from The Cooper Union. Ferro has taught at institutions including Florida International University and Miami Dade College, and his art has been exhibited in New York, Miami, Buenos Aires, and beyond. His teaching philosophy emphasizes individual voice and community engagement, reflecting his artistic belief in the power of storytelling and self-expression.

Research Interests: Ferro’s practice investigates the intersection of line, color, and movement to convey psychological spaces and narratives. He explores how creativity and self-expression can inspire communal and environmental harmony. Teaching & Engagement: Ferro views teaching as a social extension of his art, fostering students’ unique voices. He also creates improvised musical compositions to further explore intuitive creativity.
