Maximilian Buchka

Maximilian Buchka is a Professor of Special and Childhood Education at Katholische Hochschule Nordrhein-Westfalen in Köln. His academic career spans over 26 years, during which he also served as Dean, Prorector for Studies and Teaching, and Acting Rector. He holds a doctoral degree in Special Education, with minors in School Education and Religious Education. His work focuses on special education, social pedagogy, and anthroposophical approaches to education and therapy.

Recipient of the Golden Comenius Medal (2009) and the Merit Award from Katholische Hochschule Köln (2010). He has also held visiting professor roles at the Comenius University in Bratislava since 2016.
