Dr. Maxim Egorov is a Professor for Responsible Leadership at Munich Business School and a postdoctoral fellow at the Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin (LEIZ) at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen and at the Department of Finance at the University of Zurich. He has extensive academic experience as a research associate, senior lecturer, leadership trainer, and executive coach at the TUM Executive Education Center, the University of St. Gallen, and other business schools.
Dr. Egorov earned his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) School of Management with a research focus on ethical leadership and leadership development. He also holds a degree in psychology from the University of Koblenz-Landau.
Dr. Egorov's research focuses on ethical leadership, moral intuition, moral foundations, and ethically-oriented leadership development. His work explores how moral foundations congruence affects ethical and unethical leadership perception, the role of moral intuition in leadership development, and the application of virtual reality in leadership training. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of how values and ethics shape leadership in business and academic contexts through publications in leading journals like the Journal of Business Ethics and various encyclopedia entries.
His diverse research portfolio spans theoretical investigations of moral psychology in leadership contexts and practical applications in business ethics and sustainable business practices. He has conducted notable survey research on German business leaders' values during digital transformation and explored innovative leadership development approaches using virtual reality technology.
Dr. Egorov is also the editor of the journal "Developing Human Resources in Higher Education and Research." His work bridges academic research and practical application, as he also works as an independent consultant, executive coach, and trainer, supporting individuals, companies, and academic organizations in their development and transformation processes.
He has considerable experience in the consulting sector, having worked as a partner and member of the management team at Manres AG. At Munich Business School, he teaches across Bachelor International Business, Master International Business, and MBA General Management programs with a focus on Responsible Leadership, Business Ethics and Sustainable Business, and Soft Skills and Personal Development.
