Max Yates

Max Yates is a Consultant Clinical Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia's Norwich Medical School, with tenure since 2019. He specializes in the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases, particularly polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (GCA), and holds roles in the Norwich Epidemiology Centre and Population Health group. His research focuses on risk factors, comorbidity patterns, and vascular disease validation using retinal imaging, alongside improving healthcare pathways through electronic tools. He leads the Academic Specialised Foundation Programme and co-chairs the OMERACT PMR working group.
