Max Minden Ribeiro serves as an Affiliated Researcher in the Department of Philosophy at Lund University, specializing in theoretical philosophy with focus on perceptual experience and consciousness. He is an active member of both the CogComlab Profile Area (Natural and Artificial Cognition) and the Cognition & Philosophy VR Lab, holding room LUX:B478 at Helgonavägen 3, Lund.
His research centers on perceptual presence—the sense that perceived objects are actually present in the environment—and its implications for philosophy of mind. He explores how 20th-century analytic and phenomenological traditions address this concept, extending into memory, affectivity, and language studies. His work bridges historical philosophical analysis with contemporary cognitive science perspectives.
Ribeiro has led the ‘One World, One Language’ course since 2022, teaching philosophy of language from global multilingual perspectives. He organized the 2022 Lund Early Career Conference ‘Perception and Responsibility’ and maintains active collaboration through Lund University’s research portal. His laboratory work in the VR Lab investigates embodied cognition through philosophical frameworks.
