Mavrik Zavarin

Mavrik Zavarin is a researcher specializing in actinide environmental chemistry with a PhD in Soil Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. His career has been primarily focused at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he currently serves as Director of the Glenn T. Seaborg Institute.

His research explores actinide speciation, mobility, and immobilization in environmental systems, with particular emphasis on protein interactions, mineral co-precipitation, and corrosion effects. Recent work includes coordination chemistry studies of actinium, americium, and curium complexes.
