Dr. Mauvalyn Bowen is a Professor of Business at Bethel University, holding positions in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School. She joined Bethel in 2017 and specializes in entrepreneurship, marketing, and research. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (as a Fulbright Scholar), an M.S. from Southern Illinois University, and a B.Ed. from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
Dr. Bowen’s research focuses on entrepreneurial marketing, social entrepreneurship, and training for micro/small entrepreneurs in developing countries. She co-authored the textbook Entrepreneurship for Caribbean Students and serves as Subject Specialist & Convenor for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Entrepreneurship Education Subject Panel. Her professional experience includes roles as an administrator, consultant, and founder of Bowen Consulting & Training Services.

Her teaching spans courses in entrepreneurship, marketing, and business management, reflecting her commitment to practical, globally oriented education. She has presented at international conferences and authored/co-authored articles on entrepreneurship, online teaching, and workforce development.
