Mauricio Freyre serves as a Skills tutor for film narratives within the Master of Interior Architecture (INSIDE) program at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK). An active artist and filmmaker based in Madrid, his practice RIEN spans photography, artistic videos, commercial clips, and cultural documentation focused on design, architecture, and urban environments.
His research critically examines systems and structures of ideas that negotiate between the constructed and projected realities, forming a conceptual backbone for his interdisciplinary work. This manifests through visual explorations of spatial relationships, societal frameworks, and the interplay between physical and imagined landscapes.
Freyre's artistic output has been exhibited internationally at prestigious venues including Rencontres Internationales, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), and TENT Rotterdam, demonstrating significant recognition in contemporary art and film circles.
