Mauricio Baptista

Mauricio Baptista is a Visiting Professor at the Laboratoire de Chimie (LCH) of École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) from November 2024 to December 2025. He holds a full professorship in Biochemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo (USP), where he leads committees for international affairs and graduate studies. His academic journey includes a Pharmacy and Biochemistry degree from USP's School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, an M.Sc. in Biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Marquette University (USA). He completed postdoctoral research in Photobiology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Research Focus: Professor Baptista specializes in photochemistry and its biological applications, particularly endogenous photosensitizers and their roles in light-induced oxidative stress. His current work explores FICZ's effects on membrane models, aligning with ENS Lyon's expertise.
