Dr. Maureen Dunn is a Professor of Kinesiology at Hope College, where she has been a faculty member since 1997. She previously served as head volleyball coach, winning four MIAA championships and earning NCAA tournament berths, but resigned from coaching in 2004 to focus on teaching and research. Her academic leadership includes directing the college’s employee wellness program (2006–2008) and serving as Exercise Science Program Director since 2008.

Maureen’s research expertise spans invasive human muscle tissue studies, carbohydrate metabolism during exercise, video-game-based rehabilitation, and balance rehabilitation for individuals with multiple sclerosis. Her work has attracted over $125,000 in external funding and fostered collaborations with internal and external researchers.
She remains actively engaged with the National MS Society as a volunteer and co-leader of a local support group.
