Mattias Bengtsson is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Gothenburg (since 2025) and a part-time Professor at the University of Borås (since 2024). His research bridges the welfare state, labor market, and existential sociology with a focus on social inequality through a class perspective. He actively participates in the Nordic pandemic policy analysis project until 2026 and leads the FORTE-funded FORTE program (2023–2029) on social sustainability in green automotive transition.
