معرفی
Mattia Marinelli is a Professor in E-mobility in Energy Systems at the Department of Wind and Energy Systems, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He leads the E-mobility and Prosumer Integration section and is deeply involved in EU-funded research projects including AHEAD, EV4EU, and FLOW. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Genoa and has been at DTU since 2012.
- Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, University of Genoa (2004–2007)
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, University of Genoa (2008–2011)
His research focuses on electric vehicle integration, bidirectional charging, distributed energy resources, and grid flexibility. He is passionate about bridging theoretical research with real-world applications, especially in sustainable energy systems and electromobility. His work spans modeling, control, and economic analysis of EV-grid interactions, battery systems, and hybrid energy solutions.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend toward vehicle-to-grid (V2G), smart charging, and integration of EVs with renewable energy sources like photovoltaics. The research emphasizes grid services, techno-economic analysis, battery degradation, and optimization of EV aggregation for market participation. Key subfields include frequency regulation, load balancing, and user-centric energy management.
- AEG Elektronprisen 2024
- Best paper award of the IEEE PES ISGT-Europe 2021 conference
Mattia Marinelli supervises numerous PhD students and leads major research grants, including Horizon Europe and H2020 projects with multi-million-euro budgets. He teaches M.Sc. and PhD courses in wind integration, distributed energy technologies, and hybrid power plants. He is actively involved in IEEE and conference leadership, contributing to the advancement of smart grid technologies.
He leads the E-mobility and Prosumer Integration section at DTU, which has grown to include 34 researchers from 16 countries. The team conducts internationally recognized research in EV technologies, charging infrastructure, power electronics, and hybrid AC-DC systems, working closely with industry and European partners.
