معرفی
Matthieu VANNI is an Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal, holding dual affiliations in the School of Optometry and the Department of Neurosciences within the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on brain functional organization using neurophotonics, particularly cortical mapping in visual and motor cortices, and optogenetic imaging in animal models. He explores therapeutic strategies for visual impairments and develops optogenetic-based neuroprosthetics. He investigates cortical reorganization post-stroke and visual perception in stroke models.
- Director of the Neurophotonics Laboratory
- Member of the SNC (Signalization and Neural Circuitry Group) and CIRCA (Brain and Learning Research Center)
Research Grants:
- Lead or co-investigator in over 20 research grants (e.g., CRSNG, FRQS, MITACS, Foundation Fighting Blindness)
- Significant funding includes a $6.7M research infrastructure grant (2019)
Teaching: Involves advanced vision science seminars and research methodology courses at the graduate level in optometry and vision science programs.
