معرفی
Matthieu Frappart is a Senior Lecturer at the IUT of Saint-Nazaire, University of Nantes, where he has been working since September 2009. He is a member of the Bioprocesses Applied to Microalgae (BAM) team within GEPEA (UMR CNRS 6144), a research unit focused on process engineering and environmental applications.
Academic Background
- 2000: DUT in Chemical Engineering – Process Engineering at IUT of Saint-Nazaire
- 2003: Engineering degree (specializing in Thermal and Energy Engineering) from UTC
- 2003: Master's degree (DEA) in Industrial Process Engineering from UTC
- 2003-2006: Doctoral thesis on "Treatment of dairy industry effluents by dynamic filtration" at UTC
Research Focus
Frappart's research primarily centers on membrane separation processes, with specialized expertise in dynamic membrane processes that utilize intensified shear rates. His work spans diverse applications including microalgae harvesting techniques and the extraction/purification of biomolecules such as pigments, proteins, and lipids from microalgae. This research addresses critical challenges in bioprocessing where conventional filtration methods often face limitations.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Process engineering courses at the IUT of Saint-Nazaire
- Engineering programs at Polytech Nantes (Process Engineering and Bioprocesses department)
- Energy Management programs at the University of Nantes
Professional Experience
- September 2009-Present: Senior Lecturer at IUT of Saint-Nazaire, University of Nantes
- September 2008-2009: Contractual Teacher-Researcher at UTC
- Post-Master's: Temporary Teaching and Research Assistant positions
Research Environment
As part of the BAM team within GEPEA, Frappart contributes to research that bridges academic inquiry with industrial applications. The team's work aligns with sustainable development goals, focusing on efficient resource utilization and environmental protection through innovative engineering solutions in bioprocess technology.
