Matthias Senft

Dr. Matthias Senft serves as a Researcher in the Digitalization/Artificial Intelligence unit at the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI), Germany's Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants under the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). His work focuses on transforming research data ecosystems through systematic implementation of FAIR principles across agricultural science.

His core research interests include:

• Research Data Management (RDM) infrastructure design
• FAIR criteria evaluation and implementation
• Digitalization strategies for agricultural research
• Data policy development and compliance frameworks
• Research Data Management Organizer (RDMO) tool deployment
• Interoperable data ecosystem architecture

Dr. Senft leads the establishment of JKI's FDM service center for RDM training and consultation, develops data lifecycle roadmaps for diverse research outputs, and coordinates a cross-institute network of RDM representatives. His committee work includes the BMEL Digitalisation Think Tank's Research Data Management Working Group and DINI/nestor-AG's training initiatives for research data professionals.
