Matthias Schwab

Matthias Schwab is a full Professor and Chair of Clinical Pharmacology at Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen, Germany, and serves as Director of the Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch-Institute of Clinical Pharmacology in Stuttgart. He also holds a Coopted Professorship at Tuebingen’s Faculty of Sciences – Department of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, and was Adjunct Professor at Yerevan State Medical University (2018-2024).

• Research Focus: Pediatric clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenetics/pharmacogenomics, epigenetics, ADME, cancer therapy, and clinical trials.
• Leadership Roles: Director of clinical pharmacology departments, Head of research units, and Coordinator of pharmacogenetics research.

His work spans drug metabolism, precision oncology, and pharmacogenetic guidelines for thiopurines and fluoropyrimidines. Key awards include the Robert-Pfleger Research Award, Staufer-Medal, and fellowships from the British Pharmacological Society and Leopoldina Academy.
