Matthias Kispert is an artist, researcher, and educator affiliated with the University of the Arts London and the University of Westminster. As an Associate Lecturer in BA (Hons) Sound Arts at the London College of Communication, he bridges sound design, political economy, and social activism through his practice.
- Former Audio Director at the media arts collective D-Fuse, contributing to international exhibitions at Tribeca Film Festival, Eyebeam, and Sonic Acts
- Sound designer/composer for film, theatre, interactive installations, and artist collaborations
- Editorial roles: Founding Editor of Hyphen Journal; Assistant Editor of Moving Image and Art Review Journal (MIRAJ)
- Coordinator for the Committee on Activism at the International Initiative for Promoting Political Economy (IIPPE)
His research explores the interplay between art and sociopolitical issues, including migration, urban space, finance, and platform capitalism. He engages in solo and collaborative projects across video, installation, and free improvisation, often critiquing precarious labor and digital economies.
