Matthias Kepser

Prof. Dr. phil. Matthias Kepser is a faculty member at the University of Bremen's Department 10 – Linguistics and Literature, where he has served as Professor for Didactics of German Language and Literature with a focus on New Media since 1 April 2004. His career includes administrative roles as Dean of Studies (2005-2008), second chairman of the Symposion Deutschdidaktik e.V. (2008-2010), Dean of Faculty 10 (2008-2012), Vice Dean (2012-2013), and First Chairman of the Media Working Group in the German Didactics Symposium e.V. since 2015.

His research focuses on integrating digital technologies into German language pedagogy, exploring computers as educational media, and media studies in school contexts. His academic background includes studying German, psychology, and philosophy for teaching at grammar schools in Munich, Eichstätt, and Tübingen, followed by five years of secondary school teaching and school psychology experience prior to joining academia.
