Matthias Hoffmann

Matthias Hoffmann is a Research Fellow in the Department of Communication at the University of Copenhagen's School of Humanities. His research focuses on social movements and digital media, with a special interest in far-right online mobilization. He employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, particularly social network analyses and content analyses, to study political communication on social media platforms.

Hoffmann holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento and previously worked at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in Berlin. His methodological expertise includes collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data from various social media platforms using both R and Python.
