Matthias Heintz is a Lecturer in Computer Science (Teaching Focussed) at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Leicester (UK). He holds Associate Fellow status with Advance HE (AFHEA). His roles include teaching and research supervision, with a focus on HCI, Participatory Design, and technology-enhanced learning.
Education:
- Diploma and Master’s degree in Computer Science in Media from Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences (Germany).
Research Interests: Focuses on usability, user experience (UX), and end-user involvement in HCI. Engaged in projects like GoLab, NextLab, and ARETE, addressing user interface design, education, and mobile software engineering.
Teaching: Currently teaches modules including Requirements Engineering, Personal and Group Skills, and Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing. Previously taught Research Methods and Theories in HCI and Research Trends in HCI.
Prior Experience: Worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany, on research/industrial projects in UI design, education, and mobile engineering.
