Matthew W. Lewis is a Senior Research Scientist and Professor at the RAND School of Public Policy within the RAND Corporation. His work focuses on applying advanced technologies like virtual reality and simulation tools to enhance decision-making, learning, and logistics processes across military, public health, and educational domains. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Cognitive Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego, alongside an elementary education teaching credential.
His research emphasizes improving training through technology, including stress-based police decision-making simulations and cost-effective military training integration.
