Matthew Van Houten is a senior executive and Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, joining in 2025. With 20+ years of leadership experience in media, advertising, and technology, he has held executive roles at Paramount, Warner Bros., AT&T, and DIRECTV, where he currently serves as Senior Vice President of Product, Partnerships, Operations, and Business Development. His academic work focuses on the intersection of entertainment and emerging media technologies.

- Bachelor’s in Political Science, magna cum laude, University of San Diego
- MBA, CUNY Baruch College
Van Houten’s research and teaching emphasize media convergence, advanced advertising technology, and innovative customer-centric advertising. He has pioneered advancements in addressable advertising and holds multiple patents in the field. His work spans traditional TV, mobile, and streaming platforms, aligning with the evolving digital media landscape.

In addition to his corporate roles, Van Houten has mentored students for 15 years at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and continues teaching at Stern. He chairs the Board of Go Addressable and Invidi Technologies, advancing global advertising technology standards.
