Matthew Stevens is an Associate Professor in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music. A two-time Grammy-nominated guitarist and producer, he is celebrated for dissolving demarcation lines between jazz, rock, and ambient music. His critically acclaimed performances and recordings have been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Pitchfork, and NPR across global venues including Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall.
Stevens' artistic research spans Jazz, Rock, and Ambient Music with innovative approaches to Guitar Performance and Music Production. His compositions advance modern jazz ideals through honest, soulful explorations of contemporary music intersections, reflecting decades of professional experience with artists like Esperanza Spalding and Terri Lyne Carrington.
