Dr. Matthew Steele is a Lecturer at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA), Manchester Metropolitan University, since 2017. He holds a PhD in Arts and Social Sciences (The Open University), an MA (by Research) in Architecture (Manchester Metropolitan University), a PG Dip in Architectural Practice, and a BA (Hons) in Architecture, both from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.
- Teaching roles include MA Architecture & Urbanism (Theory), MA Architecture (Dissertations), and MA Planning (Dissertations).
His research focuses on post-1945 architectural practices, particularly adaptive reuse of historic buildings for social, economic, and environmental purposes. This work bridges historical analysis with contemporary challenges in urban sustainability and heritage conservation.
