Matthew Schuler

Matthew Schuler is Assistant Professor of Biology at Montclair State University, investigating how human activities alter freshwater ecosystems. His experimental research examines impacts of road salt, climate change, and invasive species on aquatic communities.

Current projects analyze heavy metal contamination from road salts in New Jersey drinking wells and ecological consequences of salinization. His work integrates field surveys with controlled mesocosm experiments to identify conservation strategies.
